HAPPY EUROPE DAY 09/05

Let’s celebrate a union that has created peace.

Taken in countries that would have been unthinkable 30 years ago.

Allowed citizens to be safe and access everything they need, wherever they are.

Harmonise working standards and conditions.

Moved money from being spent politically, to regenerating areas that need it.

Protected citizens from being exploited by huge, anticompetitive businesses.

And many more. Reply with your own thoughts?

Contrary to stupid articles in the puerile Daily Express, the EU does not plan to merge the UK with France.

We do, however, want to be super cool buddies with art swaps, cycle routes and cultural sharing. How does that sound?

Did you miss the launch party of the Belgian Presidency of the EU, with its acrobats making up the EU flag, fireworks, people flying with umbrellas and more, all titled ‘I <3 EU’?

EU myths and rumours dispelled

EU myths & rumours dispelled by the EU here.

For example, there is no truth in the statement that ‘We’ve been tango-ed! EU gave £850,00 of OUR cash to teach Finns dance’ is a bad thing.

In fact, it is one of ‘hundreds of thousands of local projects aimed at EU regions and at boosting employment co-financed from the EU budget’.
